Somewhat recently a teammate posed a question to our race team: why do you race? I hadn't thought about it in a while. Considering the dangers, expense, time commitment, and strenuous training, I think it's a valid question. Here's why I race.
This is the fourth year I've done at least some of the GA Cycling Gran Prix races - this year I did the road race and time trial. It's a great event, and we're lucky to have a 5 day (almost) stage race in Georgia. Read the review and check out the race bikes here!
I did the 74 mile Cat 3 race, and it's the longest race I've done yet. I wasn't too worried about the distance because the course is generally pretty flat (3,871 ft gain). Here's the report and a few race bike pics!
