The Brownwood Bike Rally is a great event. It's great because of all the East Atlanta Kids Club children riding bikes, doing morning races, and having a good time. It's also great because it's a nice little teaser to the CX season and to test the legs.
For the children's races I volunteered to be the course sweeper, and help the kids finish the course. I also was the sweeper for the B's race, which was nice because I got to preview the offroad sections of the course.
For the A's race I started in a poor position, and within 1min I was essentially out of contention. After that I just clawed my way up several positions by using fitness from road racing and then tried to limit my time loses in the offroad turns (which I really need to work on). Ended up getting 10th. Starting position importance and fighting through bottle necks was an excellent lesson to be reminded of.
And with that, RACE BIKES!!!!!!
